Application Maintenance

Keep your app running smoothly.

Your application doesn't stop needing attention once it goes live. Application Maintenance gives you ongoing technical support for your existing app — covering bugs, security issues, dependency changes and other problems that can arise after launch.

$126/month

For applications hosted with Million Labs · added to your hosting package.

Why maintenance matters

Your app might be finished. The technology around it isn't.

A live application exists in a constantly changing technical environment. Browsers update, libraries change, APIs evolve, vulnerabilities are discovered and third-party services shift — and sometimes bugs only surface once real people are using your app.

Without maintenance, these become problems you have to investigate and resolve yourself. With Application Maintenance, Million Labs is there to help keep your existing application operational.

What's included

What we look after.

Bug Fixes

Fix defects where existing functionality no longer works as originally intended.

Security Maintenance

Fix security vulnerabilities in the application and its dependencies — including the issues surfaced by Foundry Shield's continuous monitoring.

Dependency Issues

Resolve problems caused by updates or changes to libraries, packages and technical dependencies.

Integration Issues

Investigate problems affecting existing third-party integrations and APIs.

Compatibility Fixes

Address issues caused by changes to browsers, operating systems or supported platforms.

Production Issues

Investigate errors, failures and unexpected behaviour affecting the live application.

Where the line sits

Maintenance keeps what you've built working.

Maintenance

Included
  • Login suddenly stops working
  • An existing workflow produces an error
  • A library update breaks functionality
  • An existing API integration stops working
  • A security vulnerability needs patching
  • A browser update causes an existing screen to fail
  • An unexpected production error needs investigating

Development

Quoted separately
  • Add another user type
  • Change how the login process works
  • Add a new payment option
  • Redesign a screen
  • Build a new dashboard
  • Add another integration
  • Improve or extend an existing feature

The simple test

If something that previously worked has stopped working, maintenance will normally cover it. If you want the application to do something new or differently, that's development.

How they fit together

Hosting runs your app. Maintenance looks after it.

Application Maintenance

Ongoing technical support for the app itself.

Your hosting package provides the infrastructure your application needs to operate. Application Maintenance adds ongoing technical support for the application running on that infrastructure. Together they provide a managed environment for keeping your application online and operational after launch.

How it works

Simple from the first report.

1

Report an issue

Tell us what's happening through your support channel.

2

We investigate

We'll determine whether the issue is covered by Application Maintenance.

3

We fix it

If it's a maintenance issue, we'll investigate and implement the appropriate fix.

4

If it's a change

If the request is actually a new feature, improvement or change to the application, we'll explain why and provide a separate quote before any work starts.

To be clear

Maintenance isn't a development subscription.

Application Maintenance doesn't provide a monthly allocation of developer hours or ongoing product development. It doesn't include:

New features or functionality
Changes to existing functionality
UI or UX improvements
Redesigns
New screens, reports or dashboards
New integrations
New workflows or automations
Changes resulting from new business requirements
Content management or data entry

These can still be delivered by Million Labs — they'll simply be scoped and quoted separately.

What about bigger problems?

Application Maintenance covers reasonable remedial work required to maintain the existing application.

Occasionally an issue may require substantial redevelopment — for example, a third-party provider retiring an API, a major technology migration or a significant external platform change.

Where substantial redevelopment is required, we'll explain the issue and agree any additional work and cost with you before proceeding.

Don't wait until something breaks.

Keep your application maintained, secure and supported after launch.
